Cultural Resource Specialist I, II

PAR is always seeking seasonal employees for various archaeological and historical projects throughout California. Applicants with experience in historic archaeology, history, architectural history, and prehistoric archaeology are encouraged to send a letter of interest/availability and resume to Mary Maniery at the above address.

Cultural Resource Specialist II, III

PAR occasionally hires full-time, permanent senior level archaeologists, historians and architectural historians.

Responsibilities

The position could involve carrying out projects in compliance with both Section 106 of the NHPA and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Senior position responsibilities include performing and directing fieldwork projects, recording historic and prehistoric sites and features or historic structures, artifact identification, archival research, technical report writing, environmental document preparation, and site form preparation. Opportunities exist to be involved with marketing, budget planning and management, proposal preparation, public interpretation and presentations, preparation of effect and agreement documents, tribal consultation, and archival research. Special attention will be given to applicants with experience in historical archaeology or history.

Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Anthropology or associated field with at least three years experience in CRM and fieldwork is required for this position. Good writing and "people" skills are essential. Valid California driver's license is required. The successful applicant must be willing to relocate to Sacramento, California and is expected to travel throughout the state for fieldwork.

Compensation

Wages will be commensurate with education and experience. Lodging and meals are reimbursed while in the field.

Environmental Planners

We are always seeking new hirees who are interested in transportation planning projects throughout California. The majority of our environmental planning projects involve compliance with CEQA and NEPA and the California Department of Transportation and FHWA procedures and guidelines. A Bachelor's degree in planning, environmental science, or related field is preferred along with good communication and writing skills. Salary is commensurate with experience.
